Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc. joins other companies, influencers and media to pledge for safer roads
Did you know that in Metro Manila alone, an average of 58 people are involved in motorcycle-related road crashes every day?
With such alarming statistics, Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc. is stepping up to make a difference. The company is revving up for a groundbreaking mission: “Tamang Ride,” a revolutionary road safety movement set to launch in May 2025. This initiative, spearheaded by ACTION, Inc. (A Child’s Trust is Ours to Nurture), is dedicated to promoting safe driving practices and building a child-friendly society in the Philippines. As the first motorcycle brand to join this movement, Yamaha is demonstrating its unwavering commitment to safety and community well-being.
The heart of “Tamang Ride” is a mobile app designed to compile user data and bring together stakeholders from the automotive and motorcycle industries to advocate for road safety, monitor traffic conditions, and promote safe driving for everyone, especially children.
Uniting for a Common Cause
The “Tamang Ride” advocacy unites a diverse group of stakeholders—car and motorcycle manufacturers, influencers, private enterprises, and everyday commuters—to tackle the critical challenges of traffic safety. The mission is clear: educate road users to practice safety and responsibility, engage communities to foster a culture of road awareness, and develop tools and programs that make road safety education accessible and effective. By joining as a Road Safety Guardian, Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc. takes a leading role in empowering communities to foster safer roads.
The official contract signing for the partnership took place at the Yamaha Flagship Shop, The YZone. ACTION Inc. was represented by its Founder and President, Hajime Yokota, Head of Operations for the Malabon Office, Evangeline Balais, and Executive Director, Lani Bayron Lianes. On behalf of Yamaha Motor Philippines, Sales and Marketing Director Shinsuke Iida, and Marketing Section Manager Toni Acuesta, were in attendance.
Programs for a Safer Tomorrow
Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc. will support a series of impactful programs, including:

- Innovative Advocacy Tools: Creation of an app that maps dangerous accident areas, bad road conditions, and accident reports, as well as the development of educational materials, bite-sized social media content, and interactive training resources.
- Community Engagement: Road safety training programs in schools, local government units, and communities. Events featuring testimonials from individuals impacted by road accidents to raise awareness about the consequences of unsafe practices.
- Public Awareness Campaigns: Frequent publication and dissemination of road safety content across various media channels. Collaboration with influencers, artists, and rider clubs to amplify the movement’s message.
- Sustainable Advocacy: Regular evaluations of the program’s reach and impact to ensure continuous improvement. Allocation of all proceeds will go to ACTION, Inc., the implementing body, with transparent annual financial reporting for partner contributions.
By supporting these initiatives, Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc. is not only fulfilling its commitment to corporate social responsibility but also leading the charge toward a safer, more responsible riding culture in the Philippines. Together, we can drive change and make our roads safer for all.
