First-class land travel is often a luxury reserved for the few. If you’ve accomplished much in life and demand the very best, there are even fewer vehicles worthy of your attention. Introducing the New Nissan Patrol. It’s not just a luxury SUV–it’s an unmatched statement of success and achievement.
Luckily, this scribe was able to experience the first-class power and cutting-edge technology this exceptional behemoth can offer. Personally, it’s absolutely perfect for those who demand luxury, performance and capability found in full-sized sport utility vehicles.
Right off the bat, one can be awestruck by its commanding presence on the road. Its horizontal lines across its grille that go along its subtle curves exude that level of elegance. Its iconic V-shaped front grille has been updated and it complements its C-shaped LED daytime running lights and LED headlights lighting up the road ahead.
At its rear are LED tail lamps with sequential turn signal lights, not only illuminate for safety, but also instantly turn heads toward this looker. Classy 20-inch alloy wheels with horizontal chrome slats then put icing on the cake.
Inside, one is, with a snap of a finger, welcomed by its refined comfort with its plush leather-appointed seats and individual climate controls. Lathed with black wood veneer and upscale leather trim, the dash puts that sense of class further unto a pedestal. Moreover, a built-in cooler box for refreshments is perfect, particularly this summer. With its double-hinged design, it provides access to both passengers from the first and second row seats. From here, its roomy interior is augmented by its ample legroom and spacious cabin providing comfort in the second and third row seats.
While on the road, one can be whisked away from all the hustle and bustle of the metro with its class-leading infotainment system, specifically coming from its 12.3-inch advanced touchscreen display audio that features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This is capped by top-of-the-line sound quality with its 13 Bose speakers strategically placed around the cabin.
Other than entertainment, it is likewise equipped with a navigation feature to get one around traffic seamlessly. Wireless charging pad is also within reach, while one-time Bluetooth setup can be had for that enjoyable connectivity.

The New Nissan Patrol features new V-Motion design language and hood design as well as 20-inch alloy wheel designs.

Inside, it features new full-colored advanced driver assist display and new 12.3-inch infotainment system, as well as a new cool box.
Under its hood is a mighty 5.6-liter V8 engine, mated to a seven-speed automatic tranny, churning out 405 PS and 560 N-m of torque. In one section of the actual short drive around Ayala Alabang Town Center, this scribe was able to push this beast to full throttle once the road was free of traffic. Immediately, the monstrous kick from its powertrain being unleashed can be felt, even briefly. The short drive did not—however—allow me to further test its off-road prowess with its variable 4×4 mode select shift on the fly—which could have been more fun.
Safety-wise, the Patrol has the most advanced driver-assist features in its segment with its Nissan Intelligent Mobility, featuring: Blind Spot Warning with Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention, Intelligent Cruise Control, Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert Lane Departure Warning with Intelligent Lane Intervention, among others.
To top it off, the Nissan Patrol also has a five-year warranty, which tops all other contenders in its class.
Overall, my stint with this Nissan Patrol—even though briefly—has already left an impression that this SUV, with its superb performance and exceptional technologies, is nothing short of kingly. And truly, it is a vehicle fit for the top brass of society.
