Next-Gen Ford Territory hits the road
Three years after its initial debut in the Philippines, the Ford Territory nameplate continues to redefine expectations from what a small SUV can provide. This tradition is set to continue with the launch of the Next-Gen Ford Territory, which promises to deliver power and performance with style and substance.
The new iteration of the Territory recently hit the market, becoming available to motorists just five months after the public got a sneak peek at it at the Manila International Auto Show.
Ford Philippines officials say the Next-Gen Territory is not just a vehicle but an experience. To prove this point, they recently invited members of the automotive press and several content creators to get behind the wheel and test the car themselves so they could truly understand what makes it an exceptional vehicle.
The Next-Gen Ford Territory Experiential Drive kicked off at the Capitol Commons in Pasig. The participants embarked on a two-day adventure, navigating the challenging terrains of Rizal, cruising the highways of Laguna, and ascending the hills of Tagaytay before reaching Anya Resort.
Along the way, the Next-Gen Territory kept turning heads with its upgraded exterior. Its integrated honeycomb grille, signature daytime running lamps, and full-LED headlights were certified scene stealers.
Inside the Next-Gen Territory, participants were greeted by a premium and spacious interior designed for ultimate comfort. Perforated and Ventilated Leather seats, coupled with a 10-Way Power Adjust for the driver and 4-Way Manual Adjust for the passenger, give the cabin a touch of luxury.
Storage was abundant, making it a practical choice for those who love road trips. The roomy trunk, capable of holding up to 448 liters, proved its mettle, accommodating everything from large luggage to sports equipment with ease.
But it wasn’t just the looks that made the car model impressive. It was the drive.
The future of driving
Under the hood, the Next-Gen Territory conquered the straight roads and elevation changes with its EcoBoost 1.5L engine. Paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission, this SUV delivered a staggering 248N-m of torque and an impressive 160 PS. The drive convoy experienced the thrill of switching between different drive modes, from Eco to Sport, adapting effortlessly to various terrains, be it winding mountain roads or open highways.
An array of innovative technologies made the Next-Gen Territory even more impressive. The 360-degree camera proved its worth, effortlessly guiding drivers through tight spaces and blind spots. The Active Park Assist feature autonomously parked the vehicle with precision.
The large 12-inch central touch screen, along with a 7-inch or 12-inch digital instrument cluster, on the other hand, ensured drivers had easy access to all vehicle functions. The inclusion of Wireless Charging, USB Type C and Type A charging, and Wireless Apple Carplay® and Android Auto™ capability further elevated the driving experience.
The price of excellence
With all these remarkable features, one might expect a hefty price tag. However, the Next-Gen Territory offers excellent value for money. The Titanium variant is available at P1,335,000, while the Titanium X, with its additional features, comes at P1,599,000. Both models come with a 5-year warranty or up to 150,000 km, providing peace of mind to motorists.
In the words of Mike Breen, the managing director of Ford Philippines, “The Next-Gen Territory is an SUV perfect for young professionals and starting families alike.”
Its contemporary design, comfortable interior, and intelligent safety features make it a standout choice in the fiercely competitive SUV market, redefining not just what a small SUV can be but what your driving experience should be.
