If you’re looking for a compact SUV that has the sporty looks, premium feel, fuel-efficiency and top-notch safety, then, the Haval H6 HEV must be the right vehicle for you.
Most SUVs with these features are usually already priced above P2M. But not the Haval H6 HEV Max.
At P1.788M, this Great Wall Motor’s offering into the compact SUV segment packs a sleek and sporty profile. It’s highlighted by its modern character design capped by sloping edges beautifully intertwined with sharp lines. Together with its wide frameless grille, this panache is complemented by LED headlights that go along with LED daytime running lights, LED fog lights and LED taillights. As icing, a panoramic sunroof can even treat passengers to a picturesque view of the city skyline at sunset.
Inside, one is instantly greeted by a lush of premium features. A flashy 10.25-inch digital instrument panel perks the driver up. While a 10.25inch touchscreen infotainment system is placed front and center for both entertainment and air conditioning needs of the occupants.
Leather steering wheel material and seats, meanwhile, give added comfort to both driver and passengers.
For power, this front-wheel drive stunner is driven by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired to a 130kW dedicated hybrid transmission, which–in total–churns out 240hp and 530N-m of torque.
During a week-long test drive, this writer was probably dazzled by the top-notch safety features of the vehicle. Notably, while driving along the Skyway Stage 3 from Quezon City all the way to Makati, the H6 surprisingly knew what the speed limits were for each section of the highway. When the speed limit was only 60 kph in one portion, it reminded the driver to only drive within that limit. When it stated 80 kph, it also reminded to adjust to that specified speed.
In terms of fuel-efficiency, on the other hand, the SUV was superb. On the highway, it averaged about 20 to 21 kilometers per liter. While in the city, I was able to squeeze about 13 kilometers per liter.
All in all, this Haval H6 HEV Max probably has all that one is looking for in an ideal compact SUV. And take note, this is only just the base variant.
