Sharing the limelight together with the Chery Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid during the launch at the City of Dreams Manila in Parañaque City was the new Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid.
This new upgraded mild hybrid now features a 48-volt BSG system mated to a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and a nine-speed CVT. The system then churns out 156 horsepower with 230 N-m of torque.
According to the carmaker, the new power mill does not only improves power but also boosts its fuel efficiency by 13 percent compared to its non-hybrid counterpart.
Aside from sharing the same engine system with its smaller sibling, Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid, it likewise dons a stylish Diamond Galaxy grille coupled by its posh-looking fascia complemented by its dashing LED headlights, double-row LED foglights and sleeker side profiles.
Also, it measures 4,500-mm long, 1,842-mm wide and 1,746mm tall. Far bigger and more robust compared to the said smaller brother, Tiggo 5. All these are capped by a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels, exclusive for the former’s top-tier hybrid version.
Inside, it features premium styling and design that perfectly blends together with its spacious and epicurean cabin, not to mention much roomier than the 5. Nifty creature comforts are also spread out inside, from its 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster, wireless device charging, interior ambient lighting all the way to its panoramic sunroof.
Moreover, it has a 360-degree around-view monitor which helps drivers particularly while squeezing inside that tight spot in the parking area. Others include rear aircon vents, smart keyless entry and a remote engine start, just to name a few.
Safety-wise, its slew of features consist of anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, cruise control with speed limiter, hillstart assist, hill-descent control, traction control, six airbags and many others.
Color options available for the model are: Red, gray, black, silver and white.
The Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid is priced at P1,350,000. While its non-hybrid variant is tagged at P1,250,000.
“The new Chery Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid and Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid redefine the subcompact and compact crossover categories,” the company’s new Managing Director, Froilan Dytianquin stated during the unveiling affair.
He, then, concluded: “With their generous exterior dimensions, they are among the largest and most spacious vehicles in their class and with their hybrid powertrains, they are among the most, if not the most, fuel-efficient of all. There is truly more to our cars.”
