The local distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines on Friday said it received the government’s certification for another one of its public utility vehicle models, marking the latest accreditation in its vehicle offerings in the country.

Hariphil Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) said the Department of Transportation (DOTr) granted a certificate of compliance (COC) for its Hyundai HD50S GT Modern PUV (public utility vehicle) Class 4, adding that they are the first company to receive this for the said PUV category.

“Hyundai’s truck of all trades, the HD50S, does it again, this time, to bring more value to our current Modern PUV fleet offerings. With its new body application, the HD50S Class 4 is intended to connect rural towns to larger cities,” said HARI President and CEO Maria Fe Perez-Agudo.

“That is why it has provisions for cargo, as well as forward-facing seats for all passengers, and a side door entry for easy boarding and alighting. Of course, it is powered by an engine that is Euro-4 compliant and powerful enough to take on various road conditions,” she added.

The company said the Hyundai HD50 Modern PUV is the preferred vehicle for transport cooperatives in Regions 3, 5, and 7, adding that it is also gaining support fast from cooperatives in the National Capital Region (NCR) and in Region IV.

The company touted the vehicle models’ power, fuel-efficiency, toughness, space, comfort, safety, and reliable after-sales support.

HARI received the COC for its modern PUV classes 1 and 2 in 2019, before subsequently being granted another one for its PUV class 3 in 2020.

To date, HARI said it has sold close-to 800 units of their modern PUVs across the country.
