As international teams prepare to tackle the 37th edition of the America’s cup which will set sail from the beautiful port of Barcelona, Panerai, the official sponsor of the Italian Luna Rossa Prada Sailing team, drew inspiration from the technical innovation and majesty of the sailing world, introducing new timepieces to the Luna Rossa collection.

Luminor Quaranta Steel DLC Luna Rossa PAM01408
Sporting a black 40mm steel DLC (Diamond like Carbon) with a blue sun-brushed dial with luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers, the date is found at the three-o’clock and the small seconds at the nine-o’clock. This timepiece is powered by the P.900 calibre, with a three-day power reserve, and comes with a rubber/textile strap in Luna Rossa dark blue, and is waterproof up to 10 bar. This makes it perfect for all-around wear.
Luminor Quaranta BiTempo Luna Rossa PAM01404
It is a frequent traveler’s best companion, featuring its automatic P.900/GMT calibre, a three-day power reserve, a two timezone display, with the tip of GMT hand gilded in red as a tribute to the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team’s sail. The watch has a 40-mm brushed steel case, polished steel bezel, a see-through sapphire crystal caseback with a blue sun-brushed dial.
Luminor Chrono Carbotech Luna Rossa PAM01519
This timepiece brings forth the majesty of sailing to its clients. With the special Experience Edition, owners can partake of a fully immersive experience specially curated by the Maison. A Carbotech case measuring 44mm with a blue sun-brushed dial. The watch, over time will season according to its use, creating a very specific look to the wearer’s environment. The Carbotech case is designed for both form and function, thin sheets of carbon fiber are compressed under temperature controlled high pressures, along with a high-end polymer, PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone), which acts as the composite material binder, making it stronger and durable. A homage to sailing, the Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono also features the Speed Tachymeter Scale, which measures the average speed of the yacht over a defined distance.
This special Experience Edition is limited to 37 pieces to commemorate the 37th edition of the America’s Cup in 2024. As an added bonus, buyers of this special Experience Edition will gain access to a special experience in Cagliari, together with the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team members. The experience comprises of various activities and workshops all connected to the world of sailing and the open sea. Also included will be an NFT with all the pertinent information of the experience and other technical aspects of the watch, the warranty, and an art work specially designed by the Panerai studio.
All three models feature a bi-material strap bearing the symbolic ‘Luna Rossa’ logo. The PAM01408 and PAM01404 are equipped with the PAM Click Release System, the straps can be easily swapped to create looks for different moods and styles. These are boutique exclusives.
Adding to the collection are the PAM01378 and PAM01381. Set in a polished 38-mm steel case with a white Saffiano leather strap, the PAM01378 that bears the team’s name and red stripe logo while PAM01381 comes in a polished 42-mm steel case matched with a grey bi-material strap, and powered by the automatic P.900 calibre with a three-day power reserve.
Both watches have matte white sandwich dials that feature the Panerai logo with the inscription Luna Rossa, and numerals and indices in dark gray Super-LumiNova. The small seconds come with red hands in an ode to the team’s official color while the overall neutral tone of the timepieces makes them highly legible. The straps are interchangeable with the rest of Panerai’s range of strap collections. The collections are all boutique exclusives.
