Revving its way into the Philippine market, the new 2023 Audi Q5 embodies performance, class, and top-of-the-line technology. The brand’s bestselling SUV will be offered in two variants: the S Line TFSI with a gasoline engine, and the diesel-powered S Line TDI. Both will be equipped with the latest advances in Audi technology.
Just from a first glance, the Audi Q5 immediately establishes itself as a commanding presence, with meticulously done features such as a larger octagonal Singleframe grille, significantly taller side air intakes structured by trapezoidal insets, redesigned side sill inserts, new trim between the rear light clusters, a more prominent rear diffuser insert with a horizontal fin, and the S Line roof spoiler. The Audi Q5 TFSI variant gets new 21-inch, 5-twin-spoke module wheels.
Step inside the cabin and you will immediately be greeted by an interior that emanates pure luxury and smooth refinement. Immediately noticeable are the intuitive new technologies like the Audi virtual cockpit plus, which provide high-resolution vehicle function displays and infotainment control. There’s also an available sporty flat-bottom steering wheel with sporty S Line logo. The MMI navigation plus is an essential part of the Q5, with the MMI touch response assisting with navigation, climate, parking aid, and various driver-assist functions, all at the driver’s fingertips. Music lovers will especially appreciate the Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound System with 3D Sound, also accessible via the MMI system. Premium leather sport seats are up front. Occupants can breathe easier with the new air quality package. The Q5’s safety package helped it garner the highest rating from the US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Top Safety Pick+ award.
Powering the Audi Q5 TFSI is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine. Good for 265hp and 370Nm, the powerplant reportedly delivers class-leading smoothness and instant power delivery. Meanwhile, the Q5 S Line TDI packs a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with 204 hp and 400Nm, with similar responsiveness and sophistication.
These engines are paired with a seven-speed S-tronic transmission. The automatic’s response can be tailored via drive settings. Torque is sent via Audi’s quattro permanent all-wheel drive system to all four corners, for superior traction and performance even in adverse conditions or on rough roads.
The lightweight multilink suspension likewise features damper control. The Audi drive select handling system can be adjusted to five different settings, depending on road and traction conditions.
