Last night, April 26, Inquirer Motoring again bagged four Henry Ford Awards trophies. In the 22nd year of the prestigious awarding ceremony, this time, held at Xylo at the Palace in Taguig City, recognitions were given to the newspaper’s veterans Tess Salazar and its section editor, Jong Arcano. Not to mention the whole team of Inquirer Motoring.
Salazar was awarded the trophies Best Automotive Industry Feature for her article: “How the ‘laylayan ng lipunan’ deals with the high cost of commuting” and Best Ford Automotive Feature for her “Chart her Territory” piece about the Ford Territory.

Motoring section head, Jong Arcano, meantime, was again deemed Best Automotive Editor. He was lauded for the second time, recognizing him for his outstanding editorship, creative vision and strong leadership that made a significant impact to Inquirer’s success.
For the team award, Inquirer Motoring was named Best Automotive Section for Broadsheet—now, for the third consecutive year and sixth overall since 2013. All these years, the broadsheet’s automotive section has been providing comprehensive reportage of trends and issues affecting the local motoring industry, immortalizing it on a print layout that best suits the content and its audience.

Salazar, in total, has captured 11 trophies since winning her first in 2001. This includes her grand slam victory, wherein she was awarded in three categories.
Last year, Inquirer Motoring likewise garnered four HFA accolades in a ceremony held in Blue Leaf Pavillion also in Taguig.
