Audi’s worldwide deliveries leap over 44 percent in 2022

Press Release

Audi in 2022 was once again able to significantly increase sales of its fully electric e-tron models, demonstrating the brand is successfully continuing its electrification strategy. Audi delivered 118,196 fully electric e-tron models to customers last year, which is 44.3 percent more than in 2021.

“The strong numbers for the fully electric models show us that our clear focus on electric mobility is the right path,” said Hildegard Wortmann, Member of the Board of Management for Sales and Marketing at AUDI AG.

The high demand for the Audi e-tron GT and Audi e-tron SUV affirms the company’s clear decision in favor of a fully electric future and will increase Audi’s momentum on its path toward becoming a sustainable premium mobility supplier. Starting in 2026, Audi will only introduce fully electric cars to the global market.

Among the global markets last year, demand for fully electric Audi models saw a record high in the US as deliveries reached 16,177 units — an increase of 47.3 percent over 2021. The Audi e-tron SUV accounted for the bulk of the sales with 10,397 units, an increase of 7.2 percent, reaching customers.

In the Philippines, Audi continues to deliver the most number of fully electric vehicles. Customers of Audi e-tron models have expressed satisfaction over the vehicles’ performance, suitability for daily use, long driving range, and the convenience offered by home and destination charging solutions. Other key benefits cited by customers are their huge savings on high fuel prices, and the Audi e-tron models’ exemption from the plate number-coding scheme.

Every Audi e-tron model is assured of simple and convenient home charging systems that make operating the fully electric models as easy as using any digital mobile device.

Complementing these are the ever-expanding network of public charging facilities that are being set up by companies sharing Audi’s vision of sustainable mobility. In addition to Audi Philippines’ strategically located destination charging facilities, major shopping mall groups, resort and property developers, and service stations are continuing to install charging stations in their establishments, the vast majority of which have adopted the Type 2 plug used by Audi electric vehicles and other European brands.
