After securing its associate membership with the Chamber of Automotive Manufactures of the Philippines (CAMPI), the newly-formed Hyundai Motor Philippines(HMPH) is looking at its participation in the Philippine International Motors Show next month to relaunch the brand to the public and showcase its new models.
The all-electric Ioniq 5 will be the main feature of Hyundai booth as confirmed by HMPH president Eric Lee. It was named overall World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle of the Year and World Car Design of the Year at the World Car Awards last April.
Though Hyundai will not be occupying a prominent space at the PIMS scheduled from Sept. 15-18 at World Trade Center because of its late entry into PIMS organizer CAMPI, HMPH is expected to present its three all-new models the Creta, Tucson, and Staria, and the refreshed Santa Fe.
Hyundai jumped to the CAMPI fold from the Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors Inc. (AVID) and now joins the ranks of the country’s top auto brands which are mostly based in Japan.
Also accepted into the CAMPI ranks aside from Hyundai were Geely and Chery. The addition of the three brands swelled the CAMPI membership to 21.
“This marks a major turning point for the car company, (which) aims to continue strengthening the brand while also renewing customers’ enthusiasm in its lineup of offerings,” HMPH said in a statement after meeting the media and bank partners recently.
Major plans are in the works for HMPH to shake up the market and steer consumers’ attention to the brand. A key component of this drive is a nationwide service campaign and warranty program that aims to highlight the brand’s improved after sales. To better reach more customers, the company will be expanding its dealer network from 38, to 45 by 2023.
“Now that we are starting to introduce these models, we will ensure that the brand is accessible to all our customers through the launch of Hyundai Live in September. This is a two-way communication with our customers using the website as our online showroom that will provide information to meet our customers’ needs,” said HMPH president Eric Lee.
Hyundai is also expected to launch here the Palisade and the Stargazer later in the year.
