With soaring fuel prices, the timing of a new electric vehicle brand in the market couldn’t be any better.

WM Philippines (WMPH) recently announced that it has been appointed exclusive distributorship rights for emerging provider of electric vehicle maker WM Motor. Here’s what we know so far, WMPH will launch the Weltmeister W5 electric vehicle model in the second quarter of 2022 and will open its first showroom at 7NEO, BGC, Taguig. The company is also the first Welmeister distributor outside of mainland China. Aside from these vehicles, WMPH says that they are pioneering the distribution of the first full-play electric vehicles in the Philippine market, from car distributorship & dealership, charging stations, service, and parts.

“The adoption of EVs has been an ongoing trend mostly seen in developed countries like Norway, the US, and China. We are excited to see the Philippines take this path and embrace the benefits of a more sustainable mobility solution,” said Rashid Delgado, president of WM Motor Philippines.

The distributor agreement was just inked last February between WM Motor Asia Pacific (WMAP) and WM Motor Philippines (WMPH) with the executives from both companies – Yedi Sondhy, CEO of WMAP and Rashid Delgado of WMPH with the support of WM Motor International Director, Board of Commissioner and & Shareholder, Huang Qinglai, Director, and Sri Hascaryo, Chairman & Founder, WM Asia Pacific.
