A 2022 Coolray is now ready for viewing, expect availability soon

It was in September 2019 when Geely’s newest and most popular compact crossover, the Coolray was officially launched in the Philippines. It was also Sojitz G Auto Philippines’—Geely’s official partner here—first-ever offering and has become its most popular model, constantly topping sales charts as one of the best-selling subcompact crossovers in the market.

This week, SGAP announced it has brought in an updated variant of the crossover, the 2022 Coolray Sport Limited. Already available for viewing at all authorized Geely dealerships, the 2022 Coolray Sport Limited is priced at P1.218 million, which is P20,000 higher than the current top variant, the Coolray Sport.

The 2022 Coolray Sport Limited gets sportier 18-inch high-gloss black alloy wheels on 215/55R18 tires as well as power tailgate (can also be activated from the key fob) while inside, occupants would surely enjoy the ventilated front seats.

The latest and updated variant of the Coolray will still be powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline engine that generates 177 hp and 255 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch and is able to reach 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.

SGAP president and CEO Yosuke Nishi was glad to report that even with the ongoing pandemic and more competition in the Coolray’s category, the model remains strong. “We are confident that the Coolray, especially now that we have the Sport Limited, will continue to trend among Filipino buyers as the country’s best-selling B-segment SUV.”

The Coolray has remained to be a top-seller model not only for Geely, but also among the competitive brands in the B-segment two wheel drive SUV segment with 1,959 units sold from January to September 2021.

“We hope that with this latest variant of the Coolray, we will continue to maintain our market lead,”
