Is Hyundai launching the all-new Venue this week?

Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. is set to end its long silence amid the deluge of SUV and crossover launches recently.

An invitation to media for a digital launch has been set for Friday, October 23. And we’re guessing that the all-new Hyundai Venue will be launched.

Here’s what we can share about the Venue.

What is it: Venue is Hyundai’s entry-level SUV. It measures at just a tick over 4 meters, at 4040mm, 125mm shorter than the Kona. The length was chosen partly to qualify for a tax break for the Indian market, and Hyundai made the most of the subcompact footprint.

Design: Like the Kona, Venue features slit-like lights. The actual headlamps and daytime running lights are mounted lower into the bumper. The grille is similar to the one in Hyundai’s stunning new Tucson.

Power: Hyundai Venue is powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine. Power is a decent 123ps and 151Nm of torque. It’s paired to a 6-speed automatic. 0-100kph is a leisurely 11.4 seconds.

Interior: The 2520mm wheelbase pays off with an adequately-sized interior. An 8-inch touchscreen is available, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Trunk space is a roomy 529 liters.
