As its name suggests, Ford’s new Territory seeks to break new ground when it comes to design, performance and features. Here are the highlights of the new compact SUV:
1. EcoBoost engine
Ford designed its range of turbocharged petrol engines to deliver the best of both worlds: high performance and fuel efficiency. The modest 1.5-liter displacement helps to improve mileage, while the engine is still ready to deliver sufficient output for spirited acceleration. The Territory’s engine delivers 143 and 225Nm, the latter starting at a commendably low 1500rpm
2. Safety and comfort, standard
The Territory certainly doesn’t skimp of safety and comfort features, even with the base Trend variant. LED exterior lighting with auto on/off headlamps, front and rear foglamps, leather seats and steering wheel, auto-dimming rear view mirror. The panoramic moonroof is likewise standard on both variants of Territory

3. Audio system with 10-inch touchscreen
The Ford Territory has a 10-inch touchscreen audio system with adjustable views. The system has built-in Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for easy connectivity. The Trend comes with 6 speakers, and the Titanium+ upgrades it to 8

4. Active safety features
Territory is equipped with electronic stability control, ABS and EBD brakes, traction control, cruise control and hill-launch assist. Six airbags are standard. The Titanium+ adds autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with forward collision warning, and lane departure warning. Tire-pressure monitoring system is standard as well
5. Driver assist features
The Territory has rear parking sensors and rear-view camera as standard, with the Titanium+ adding front parking sensors and a 360-degree view monitor. It also features parallel and perpendicular parking assist, where the vehicle is able to steer itself into a suitable parking space.
6. Longer service intervals
The Territory needs regular maintenance only once a year, especially important during this time of pandemic. As part of the launch package, early buyers (until September 15, 2020) will get a 3-year service plan included at no extra cost.
